We use a Singapore Math curriculum. This curriculum emphasizes conceptual understanding (or the why) over rote memorization. Concepts are represented using manipulatives, then visuals, and finally as abstract symbols and equations. Our curriculum spirals to ensuring our students develop a deeper understanding of concepts.
We use multiple programs and curriculums to create a comprehensive science education for our students. Our 5th/6th class science curriculum is focused on Earth and Space Science. Our 7th/8th class science curriculum rotates annually between Physical Sciences and Life Sciences. We use a heavy lab curriculum to ensure hands-on and real life learning. Additionally, we will be using Lego Education - Science that facilitates hands-on learning while allowing students to build critical thinking, creativity, problem solving and knowledge. We use McGraw Hill IMPACT. This curriculum opens students’ eyes to the rich fabric of our world by helping them discern cultural and historical patterns, understand stories and traditions, and connect their own experiences to those of others. Our 7th/8th class social studies curriculum rotates annually between United States, World History, Civics & Economics, and Geography & Global Issues.
Our Language Arts & Reading classes the HMH literacy curriculums. Our 5th/6th class use Into Reading and Into Literature, while our 7th/8th class uses Into Literature. This curriculum focuses on creating critical and confidence readers by incorporating culturally relevant texts that connect with students' lives. The rigorous texts build intellectual stamina and tenacity, while developing analytical readers, independent thinkers, and proficient writers.
We implement the Habitudes Character Education curriculum. This curriculum incorporates Habits: personal growth, discipline, commitment, and time management.

Attitudes: leadership, mental toughness, character, integrity, balance, core values, responsibility, and emotional security.
We use the Overcoming Obstacles curriculum for our Social-Emotional Learning education. Topics covered include: confidence building, communication, decision making, goal setting, studying effectively, problem solving, resolving conflict, peer pressure, and more!
We use the Project School Wellness curriculum for our health/wellness education. Topics covered include: health basics, physical health, emotions and mental health, social health and relationships, core values and living with purpose, financial literacy, career exploration and occupational health, environmental health, and intellectual health.
Students will spend every Friday afternoon completing a wide range of community service projects. Some projects will take place on site at the State Park and others will require field trips with chaperones. Wednesday afternoons, students will participate in our Mentor/Mentee program, where they will be paired with a younger child in the community and serve as a mentor and role model. Friday mornings, students will participate in our Reading Buddies program, where they will read to a younger child who they are paired with. We implement the Lead4Change curriculum which teaches leadership skills and equips students with practical tools to affect change and make a difference. This program empowers students to develop leadership skills and equips them with the practical tools through service-learning projects, helping them identify community needs and implement real change.
